Love angels? Enjoy looking at angel collections?
Then this is the place for you!
Located at 656 Pleasant Street, along the Rock River in Beloit, Wisconsin, the Angel Museum is an beautiful and interesting attraction.
The Angel Museum displays over 12,000 pieces in the angel exhibit. From whimsical to heart-touching, homemade to collection pieces, porcelain, wooden, pewter, cloth, crocheted, ceramic, clay, and other materials, inexpensive to invaluable, yet all irreplaceable, they have it.
Oprah Winfrey has been receiving angels from fans over the years and her precious collection of over 600 "black angels" are exhibited at the Angel Museum.
My daughter, Jolene, also enjoyed the exhibit. She loved the littlest ones. In fact, the tinier the better.
However, while the exhibit is large [12,000+ pieces], it doesn't take much time to view the displays. The room is fairly small and I frankly expected more. I was very disappointed that we are not allowed to take pictures [some Federal law??? ...that I have never heard of.]
The gift shop was delightful. I will likely return to purchase a few items. There is also a cafe but it did not appear to be open on the day we visited.
Cost: $5 adults; $4 under 16; senior discounts. Parking is free.
Hours: May-October, Monday-Saturday: 10AM-5PM, Sunday: 1-4PM; November-April, Tuesday-Saturday: 10AM-4PM. Closed Sundays & Mondays.
